Man in the Middle
Inspired by the artwork ‘Digmoor’ and ‘Map of an Englishman’, by the internationally acclaimed artist Grayson Perry, Sarah Edwards’s new project Man in the Middle looks at what is currently at the forefront of a mans’ mind from the Midlands.

Five externally-identical white sheds were individually built and placed within Croome Court… internally each reflected a different element of Perry’s book, The Decent of Man; What is Modern Man?, Employment, Nostalgia, Agression and Emotion.

Each shed encouraged visitors to interact with its contents in a different way, from choosing and sticking words (that define modern man) onto white silhouetted male graphics to clocking-in for ‘work’ with fluorescent time-cards… the whole exhibition was designed to actively engage audiences of all ages.
